Visiting Ashland, Oregon

Ashland, Oregon, is a town of roughly 25,000 and is located off of Interstate 5 just north of the California border. It is most well-known for hosting the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, which lasts from March through November and draws tens of thousands of tourists.

For those who want to see the beauty of Oregon's outdoors, there is no better place than Ashland. From mountain biking to skiing, and from hiking to rafting, Ashland is an outdoor adventurer's dream home.

When it comes to rafting, Ashland has everything from mild to wild and short trips to long, multi-day trips. The Rogue River where we operate is the closest rafting to Ashland, but if you are willing a little further there are many runs within two hours of town.

There are many restaurants and lodging options in Ashland and, if you stay in town, you will be within walking distance of countless great restaurants, bars, and, of course, the Shakespeare Festival.

Southern Oregon University is located a little less than one mile from downtown Ashland. This small liberal arts college has nearly 5,500 undergraduates. Their newest degree offering is in Outdoor Recreation, completely suitable for the area, and it is the fastest growing program at the school. Students also enjoy access to a phenomenal outdoor program.
