Oh hello everyone, I am Glen Finch and I’m entering my third summer with Indigo Creek Outfitters. Growing up in Livermore, California, located on the eastern edge of California’s San Francisco Bay Area, I wasn’t exposed to too much wilderness. So when I moved to Ashland to play football at SOU, all the tall, green trees and rivers called to me. After ten years of football (two as a defensive lineman at Southern Oregon University), I was introduced to boating while in New Zealand and while on a multi-day trip through an amazing river canyon I decided that I wanted to further explore outdoor recreation. When I returned to Ashland I took a few whitewater classes at SOU through the Outdoor Adventure Leadership program. I graduated with a degree in Outdoor Adventure Leadership in the fall of 2012.

This year I’m really excited that Indigo Creek Outfitters picked up an Upper Klamath permit, which will allow our customers and myself to run one of Oregon’s best full-day whitewater stretches. If there is one piece of advice that I’d have for those interested in the rafting industry, it’s to never pass up an opportunity to see a new stretch of water.glen3

Next year I will be going to Australia to take students on outdoor excursions in the outback through the Outdoor Education Group. I’m really looking forward to applying my experiences and knowledge I’ve accumulated over the past five years to a new surrounding.

Along with being a raft guide and outdoor enthusiast, I am a scuba dive master; I enjoy kayaking, biking, and climbing. I also work at Sunstone Bakery. If you come on an Indigo Creek trip, you’ll probably get a chance to taste some of Sunstone’s delicious bread.
