Tracy Rice of Bravo Outings did a fabulous job with a great itinerary. Every place we went, the proprietors of the wineries were super-friendly and helpful – it was apparent that Tracy has great relationships with others in her community – and this certainly translates to a wonderful experience for her tour guests.

Can we do wine tours every day of the week or just on certain days?

Our wine and rafting tours operate every day of the week, based on availability.

What happens at each stop?

At each winery, you will have the opportunity to taste 5-8 different wines and learn about each varietal and how they differ. Southern Oregon wines are quite different from other wines grown in the state so you’ll have the opportunity to taste some unique wines perhaps for the very first time.

How long will we be at each winery?

We find that 45 minutes to one hour is ample time to taste and not feel rushed.

Will we receive a discount on wine that we purchase during the tour?

Most wineries will extend the member discount to our guests but please ask your guide in advance to purchasing, just to confirm.

What time will we return to Ashland?

After wine tasting, we are typically back in Ashland between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m.

Does that leave us with enough time to catch and Oregon Shakespeare play?

Yes, most plays start between 8:00 and 8:30, which leaves you with plenty of time to have a relaxing dinner before walking to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

I love wine but I’m not sure about the rafting part of the day. Can you accommodate me?

Yes. Although we are certain you would love rafting the Rogue River we can certainly accommodate you if you choose not to partake in the morning rafting trip. Contact us and we will arrange a pick-up time for you in Ashland to meet up with your group after they’ve gone rafting.

When is the best time of the year to take a Rogue River rafting trip?

Fortunately, the Rogue River flows year-round. When the temperature starts to heat up in early April, we start to think about getting on the water. Our first trips of the season are normally in April. The two warmest months are July and August.

How is the weather in the Rogue Valley?

In May, temperatures sometimes exceed 85 degrees but we occasionally experiences fronts of colder weather. July through August is the warmest season with temperatures frequently exceeding 90 degrees.

How many people fit in a raft?

Most of the time rafts have up to six paddlers and a guide.

What about gratuities?

Guests often inquire whether it is acceptable to leave a gratuity for their guide at the conclusion of their trip. If you felt your guide was exceptional, you should feel free to give him or her a token of your appreciation. A typical gratuity is between 15% and 20% of the trip fare, but guides are appreciative of any gesture. In the spirit of teamwork, our guides pool their gratuities at the conclusion of the trip.

If I arrive a day or two early, are there any good hotels or Bed and Breakfasts near by?

Absolutely. Ashland is well known for having fantastic lodging options. Check out for a complete list of things to do in the area.

Are there airports nearby?

Yes, Medford International is only 20 minutes away from our Rafting Center.
