May 18th slated as opening day for Indigo Creek Outfitters

May 7th, 2013 – Ashland, Ore. – Ashland, Oregon rafting tour and vacation company Indigo Creek Outfitters will open their 2013 Rogue River rafting season on May 18th, the company announced today. Southern Oregon rafting outfitters typically offer trips between mid-May and the end of August. Recent warm weather has helped outfitters secure reservations for trips in May. Last year, an unseasonably cold spring slowed early-season bookings.

Indigo Creek Outfitters, which takes its name from a large creek deep within Southern Oregon’s Kalmiopsis Wilderness Area, specializes in half-day whitewater rafting trips on the Rogue River near Gold Hill. The section of river, known to many as the “Nugget-Powerhouse” stretch, offers the closest rafting to Ashland, Oregon. The company is entering its third year in business and has seen a significant increase in early-season reservations compared to last year at this time. Along with rafting trips, Indigo Creek also offers rafting photos that you can take home with you the same day as your trip. “Photos are a great way to hold onto the moments that make your experience memorable” says Emily Berlant, office manager for Indigo Creek Outfitters.
