Want to see the renewed river, but don’t have a taste for Class IV whitewater?
On one of the most unique scenic overnight trips in the country, the Beswick Overnight features two days on restored sections of river and one night at a private property adjacent to what used to be Copco Reservoir. Whitewater is mild (primarily Class I & II) and allows for families with kids as young as 6 to join.
Along the way, you’ll float the Beswick, Kikacéki Valley, and Iron Gate stretches, through two former reservoirs, and one dam site. Partway through the second day, we portage (by vehicle) the challenging Kikacéki (Ward’s) Canyon and finish our trip with a float through the former Iron Gate reservoir.
See first-hand the Klamath River carving through old reservoir footprints as we float its native channel. 2025 is the first year many of these sections have been seen for decades, marking a historical return to a natural and free-flowing Klamath River.

The Beswick Overnight features three sections of Class I & II whitewater: Beswick, Kikacéki (Copco) Valley, and Iron Gate. One night is spent at our private property adjacent the former Copco reservoir.

The Indigo Creek Experience
