With air temperatures finally on the rise, rafting outfitters on Southern Oregon’s Rogue River are beginning to see an increase in reservations reports Will Volpert of Indigo Creek Outfitters. “As temperatures have warmed we’ve had more web traffic, the phone is ringing, and people are generally more interested in enjoying the outdoors,” he said on Sunday.

Thus far, April and May have been cooler than normal. “The colder temperatures have been a mixed blessing,” says Volpert, whose company, Indigo Creek Outfitters, runs half-day rafting trips on the Rogue River. “Even though the weather hasn’t been one hundred percent ideal for rafting, having a cold spring has helped maintain the snowpack in the Rogue River drainage. Because of that, we’re going to have great flows throughout the entire summer.”

Indigo Creek Outfitters runs a stretch of the Rogue River that is known as “Nugget-Powerhouse.” The trips are approximately five miles in length and are the closest rafting to Ashland, Oregon, which is where the company is based. Trips launch twice per day out of their River Center located at 130 “A” Street near downtown Ashland.

For those interested in rafting the Rogue River contact Indigo Creek Outfitters at 1-541-203-0222 or visit them online at http://www.IndigoCreekOutfitters.com. Reservations are required and, on popular dates like Memorial Day Weekend, trips fill-up well in advance.
