The Rogue Valley has every type of winter getaway you could want. Whether you prefer hiking in the mountains, skiing, or fireside wine tasting while watching the snow fall, Southern Oregon fulfills your winter adventuring dreams.

Skiing and snowboarding are two of the most popular winter activities, but did you know the Rogue Valley also has some of the best snowmobiling in the area?

Snowmobiling in Southern Oregon

The Lake of the Woods and Siskiyou Summit has numerous sno-parks you can explore, each with different activities that include cross country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. They offer something for everything, and you’re bound to find a great adventure at every turn.

One of the best places to snowmobile is Great Meadow Sno-Park, 35 miles west of Klamath Falls. It boasts more than 165 miles of groomed trails for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Snowmobilers can make their way from Great Meadows to Diamond Lake, and connect with a network of trails that go across Southern Oregon.

Additionally, the snowmobile trails surrounding Great Meadows are well-maintained and kept safe for everyone who uses them. And in true holiday fashion, you’ll spot Douglas, Red Shasta, White Firs and Lodgepole pines along the trails. They look especially beautiful when blanketed in snow! This park is great for advanced and beginner riders, with large open spaces for first-timers and trails for the more experienced adventurer.

But all of that exploring and snowmobiling can be tiring. After your day of discovery is done, food and lodging are available at Lake of the Woods and Fish Lake resorts. Get warm and cozy inside after a cold day playing outside.

Thrilling Winter Activities

Southern Oregon has so much to offer all year long, but there’s something particularly alluring during the winter, including the brisk mountain air, snowy hills, and welcoming firesides to relax by when the day is done.

Whether it’s a day of snowmobiling or other winter adventures, gather the family and start your next journey in the Rogue Valley’s snowy mountains.
