The Jackson County Fair is an annual summer tradition that locals and visitors look forward to every year. It’s when you can soar through the sky on thrilling rides, indulge in carnival food favorites, watch cowboys tame 2,000-pound bulls, or sing along to your favorite songs at a live concert.

The Jackson County Fair is rolling into town again July 14-18, 2021 at the Expo in Central Point. With so much to do, you’ll want to go every day! Here’s just a few things you’ll discover at the fair this year.

1) Bull Riding

Located in the Isola Arena at the Expo, this western extravaganza will be held on July 14th at 7 p.m. There’s nothing more exciting than watching courageous cowboys climb onto massive bulls and attempt to hold on for a full eight seconds. As the clock ticks down, your heart will be pounding while the bull runs across the arena — with the cowboy going along for the ride. This sport is a carnival favorite, and one where you’ll be cheering in the stands and jumping up from your seat.

2) Live Concerts

The Jackson County Fair has an awesome lineup of concerts and singers, one of which is The Marshall Tucker Band, with special guest Bishop Mayfield.

The Marshall Tucker Band is a beloved group that has touched the hearts of numerous generations with their down-to-earth music. The group came together as a young and hungry six-piece outfit in Spartanburg, South Carolina in 1972, and they’ve been tearing it up on live stages — big and small — across the globe ever since.

Or, mix it up with country music star Colt Ford and special guest Fogline. Southern Oregon’s Fogline is a local favorite and opens the show at 7 p.m. Then, Colt Ford — a Georgia singer, songwriter, rapper, musician and performer — will take the stage and elevate the party to the next level with his chart-topping hits.

3) Carnival Rides & Food

No trip to the fair is complete without riding as many rides as you can. Whether you like speed, thrills, or something simple, there’s a ride everyone will enjoy. You could see the expanse of the city from atop the giant wheel, or feel like a soaring bird while riding the Swinger. And then, convince your friends to go on the Gravitron, Super Shot Tower, Super Slide and more!

Classic fair foods are another part of this fun summer tradition. Whether it’s deep fried, put on a stick, or comes in a cone or cup, it’s sure to be a delicious addition to your fair experience. Additionally, play all of your favorite carnival games! Try your hand at a few of the games and see if you can beat the odds and walk away a winner.

A Quintessential Summer Experience

The Jackson County Fair has numerous concerts, games, rides, 4H & FFA events that will keep you busy the entire four days it’s in town. This local tradition is a great way to experience Southern Oregon, and an event the family will love.
