There’s nothing more craveable than a warm and flaky pastry. It could be a cookie for your kids after school snack, a post-dinner pie, or scones for breakfast.

While many of us, including our fabulous river guides, like a sweet snack, not everyone has the time to whip up a batch of cookies or muffins. When that happens, they go to their favorite local bakery — Four & Twenty Blackbirds.

Decades of Pastries

Four & Twenty Blackbirds Bakery, located in Ashland, offers a variety of pastries — including fresh marionberry scones, fruit turnovers, cupcakes and a lot of cookies. Every item is handmade in small batches, and you will be wowed by the original recipes.

Additionally, their pies, cakes, cookies, muffins are also available at Shop ‘N Kart and three local farmer’s markets.

This amazing local business began over three decades ago by a woman named Mary Martha, who grew up watching her mother bake pies. She opened a bakery, and her dream quickly transformed into cookie stands, turnovers, cakes, and more.

Elsewhere, another woman named Mary had a daughter whom she taught the love and art of baking from scratch. Years later, that daughter, Dawn, now owns Four & Twenty Blackbirds Bakery.

Delicious Desserts & Treats

Four & Twenty Blackbirds is Ashland’s original artisan bakery. They have been hand-making pies, cakes, cookies and pastries for over 30 years. In addition to tasting great, each product is baked from scratch and has the extra ingredient of a lot of love.

Whenever you’re craving something sweet, Four & Twenty Blackbirds has an inviting menu. Our river guides think trying one of everything is a must!

Classics like chocolate chip cookies and blueberry muffins will leave you feeling satisfied. You can also excite your palate with their unique tahini chew cookies and coconut dream bars. Or, purchase an entire cake or pie to enjoy later!

Cookies, Pies, Cakes & More

A local bakery is the heartbeat of the community. It reminds people of childhood and the aroma of fresh-baked cookies wafting in from the kitchen, or a warm pie sitting on the windowsill.

Our river guides recommend the next time you’re in the area, visit Four & Twenty Blackbirds for classic baked goods that will satisfy all your cravings.
